Thank you for visiting the online portfolio and resume of Matthew Woolbright. Matt is working in Corpus Christ, Texas, on the Corpus Christi Caller-Times metro desk. 
He spent a year with the Juneau Empire in Juneau, Alaska, before moving back to his home state. Preceding his time in Alaska, Matt worked for the Associated Press covering the Nevada state legislature in Carson City, Nevada, during the 2013 Legislature.
Matt is a journalist who has worked for seven news organizations since his sophomore year of high school and was the 2010-2011 editor-in-chief of The Battalion, Texas A&M’s student newspaper. Following his term as editor, Matt reported for The Bryan-College Station Eagle, the local newspaper in the city that houses A&M, as a part-time reporter. 
Matt’s final internship was in Boston on the Metro Desk of the Boston Globe. In the preceding year,  completed an internship at the Gannett Washington Bureau while attending Georgetown University during the Fall 2011 semester, and he spent two weeks in Iowa covering the 2012 Iowa Caucuses for the Des Moines Register.
Outside of previously mentioned publications, Matt has also interned at the San Antonio Express-News (summer 2009) and the Houston Chronicle (summer 2010). 
Matt is from San Antonio, Texas, and began working in journalism his sophomore year of high school. He plans to do it for the rest of his life.
